Lucy Ray and The Top Twenties ‘All Abba’ band were featured today on BBC Radio Bristol’s Breakfast With Steve Le Fevre Show.

Unexpected things happen when you’re famous!

The Top Twenties received an excited phone call just hours before we were due in the BBC Recording Studios asking us for an interview.

We are no strangers to being chased by reporters, but we were given next to no time to reschedule the band’s commitments and fix the date and time firmly in our diary.

Wow! We only had literally a handful of hours to drop everything and head for our BBC interview!

Besides roaming around the country doing gigs for corporate events, wedding couples, birthday parties, grand openings, student balls, private functions, country estate extravaganzas and valentine’s day bashes (phew!) we love being in the studio giving interviews and recording albums.

Lucy Ray chatted about The Top Twenties Band and Abba and was given a tour around the BBC Studios on Whiteladies Road in Bristol.

Lucy thoroughly enjoyed the whole interview and even sang some of Abba’s Super Trouper live and unplugged!

“They’re such great songs…” says Lucy “incredibly incredibly good songs…”.

“Yeah but their songs are 30 to 40 years old… how is the appeal still lasting to ths day?
There’s something naff about Abba, but that’s what people love about them…” asks Steve

Lucy: “Well you say naff, but Abba are actually just highly commercial.
Their whole image, their name, and the music just fit together really well.
Better than any other pop act in history.”
